Charlotte, I always believe that a meeting like this, and a story like this....is somehow destiny or maybe fate. I refuse to believe it's just a random thing. I do believe that it was meant to happen, and the script was written years before that night. Crazy, I know, but.... Thanks for sharing, Jim
This is so wholesome, Charlotte. My husband and I also had a fateful meeting seven years ago which led us to being married for now 1.5 months! Reading your story literally gave me those butterflies that I once felt in my stomach!
Haha, I was quite scandalised reading it back (I hadn't looked at the original draft since 2015) I don't drink now really so did laugh at my younger antics. I didn't even drink beer, I'm fairly sure I just pretended to take the bottles (whilst maintaining eye contact with someone that knew I wasn't a part of their party) for something to do while my friends got chatted up! I probably wouldn't do this now. Probably being the operative word.
SO MANY THINGS - one: I do actually remember reading this in 2015, this has given me immediate deja vu, I even remembered the work party thing before I read it 😂, two: absolutely excellent throwback to the time of blogs where code names/fake names were de rigueur because it gave us an air of mystique that we were adamant we needed, three: you are both adorable.
Amazing! What an impression I have made! I do still use fake names, but more because I'm worried about kidnap and the like. Doing my dissertation on press treatment of missing children really did a number on my paranoia levels long term, haha
That's a perfect Rom-Com story. For the best friend of the protagonist. 'Cause if it was the protagonist, a whole lot of bad stuff would then have to happen. Which I hope didn't happen to you!

What a lovely belief to hold, Jim, I don't think you're wrong!

How did you meet, Rifah? Don't tease me like that! (If you've written about it, please feel free to link)
I haven’t but you just inspired me to! Maybe I’ll include this in my weekend agenda :) I’ll share the link with you for sure once it goes up!
It must be the dating ban! The universe is answering immediately :)
I'm sorta inspired to write how I met my husband now, just so the kids can read it someday!
Haha, right? The universe laughing in my face for trying to write my own destiny
You must, I'd love to read it
I'll let you know if I do! :)
Please do x
Brilliant! 😆 Great to hear how you met.. and so well written 👏👍 Love it 🧡
Thank you and thank you!
OMG this is adorable!!! And such a delightfully entertaining read! (Now I just need to find a work party of my own to crash. 💃🏻😂)
